Resident Vs. Non-Resident Golf Memberships

Golf Content Network·23 May 2018
Among the benefits of being a PGA of America Golf Professional are the open relationships you develop with the club members where you’re employed. My membership was more than comfortable in sharing their opinions and views on typical club life, which I gladly accepted. Over the years, I have had many conversations with members about the dynamics of being a Residential golf member versus a Non-Residential golf member. It’s truly a mixed bag of thoughts, opinions and overall preferences. But at the end of the day, the choice will come down to you as the individual (or couple) and what best suits your lifestyle.

US Junior On Tap This Summer | Baltusrol's Long Term Agenda?

Golf Content Network·11 May 2018
Last Thursday’s media rollout for the upcoming US Junior Amateur this summer at Baltusrol Golf Club provided an interesting peak behind the curtain for the historic Garden State club. Baltusrol has been the host location for a remarkable 16 USGA Championships — counting this year’s Junior event. The club also served as host site — in ’05 and ’16 — for the PGA Championship. But the news of the day went beyond the club’s hosting of the Junior event for the first time in club history.

Atkinson's Youth Programs Invest In The Future Of Golf

Golf Content Network·17 April 2018
Atkinson Resort & Country Club in Atkinson, NH has been named NGCOA National Course of the Year and NEGCOA Course of the Year among many other honors, but perhaps its greatest reward is that of promoting golf to youngsters. “It may be the most important part of our job,” says Peter Doherty Atkinson CC’s Director of Golf. “Not only are you teaching younger players the game of golf but you’re teaching them life skills. We’ve been fortunate with the success of our junior programs.” Indeed, the Willowcreek Golf Academy and Junior Golf Camps have set Atkinson apart from other courses in terms of a commitment to the future of the game. Says Doherty, “Kids are learning about patience, discipline, integrity, and humility. We’ve also seen an incredible bond develop between the students, especially from the PGA Jr. League.”

Reed Holds Off Fowler, Spieth For Green Jacket

Golf Content Network·10 April 2018
Until the start of the 82nd Masters the name Patrick Reed was more synonymous with team play competition — showing his stature as “Captain America” in recent Ryder and President’s Cup Matches in linking raw emotion with vintage clutch play. But his solo career, while good at times, paled against the likes of fellow contemporaries such as Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas Only at last year’s PGA Championship did Reed earn his first top ten finish in a major championship finishing two strokes behind winner Thomas.
